Erbium Yag Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser skin resurfacing is performed under a local anaesthetic to improve scars, wrinkles and sun damaged skin (brown marks).

Skin resurfacing takes anything from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on how large an area is involved. The average healing time is 7-14 days, and the best results are seen in 3-10 months after treatment. The new skin is smoother and tighter. Excellent results are seen particularly under the lower eyelids.

Brown marks due usually to sun damage also responds well to treatment.

Restylane, Perlane, Touch

These products are used to smooth wrinkles and enhance lips, Restylane is based on non-animal hyalurionic acid which occurs naturally in the body and is manufactured in Sweden.

Restylane is given through a few simple injections. Top ups are usually made between 6 - 12 months. Perlane lasts a little longer.

Sculptra

Sculptra is a product which has been specially developed to help the body to "fill-in" the lines, wrinkles and depressions which develop naturally over the years.

Sculptra is Polylactic acid which occurs naturally and which helps to stimulate the body's own production of collagen within the depression or wrinkle, making the skin appear smoother and firmer. (Top up 4-6 weeks after first treatment). The results can last up to 3-4 years.

Botox

Botox is purified botulinum toxin, and is used to soften facial lines and wrinkles caused by repeated frowning or squinting on the forehead, which makes one, look older and sometimes grumpy.

The botox is injected into the muscle just above the inside of the eyebrows, which is then weakened. It lasts for approximately 4-6 months, and is repeated to maintain the smooth, youthful appearance that is desired.

Botox can also be used on the forehead for individual lines, and crows feet (lines at the sides of the eyes). Botox is also used for the treatment of excessive underarm sweating (see Hyperhidrosis)
